Release 2.4.0

July 2026 Changelog | Buy X Get Y Free offers and Skip-to-Checkout

Written by Andrey Gadashevich

New features

๐Ÿ‘‰ New: Buy X Get Y Free

You can now create classic "Buy X, Get Y Free" promotions โ€” like Buy 2 Get 1 Free, Buy 3 Get 2 Free, and similar offers.

There's no need to pick which products are given away. The discount is applied automatically to the lowest-priced eligible items in the cart, so the customer always gets the best-value items free.

Why it's useful:

  • Run popular BOGO-style promotions without extra setup

  • No free-gift product selection required โ€” the app handles it automatically

  • The lowest-priced qualifying items are discounted, so pricing stays predictable

๐Ÿ‘‰ New: Skip the cart and go straight to checkout

You can now send customers directly to checkout after they grab a deal, skipping the cart page entirely. This streamlines the purchase flow and helps reduce drop-off.

Where to find it:

Create offer โ†’ Advanced settings โ†’ Others

When Skip cart and go to checkout is enabled, clicking Grab the deal takes the customer straight to checkout instead of the cart page.

Note: This option is only available when Layout is set to Choice List, and it works together with the Grab the deal button. It is disabled by default.

Improvements

๐Ÿ‘‰ Enable or disable offers from the header

You can now turn an offer on or off directly from the header of the offer creation page โ€” no need to go back to the offers list to change its status.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Smarter upsell messages

We refreshed how upsell messages appear on both the cart and checkout:

  • When there's no discount, customers see a cart-level message

  • When a discount applies, it's shown as a Shopify Functions discount

This keeps the messaging consistent with how the discount is actually applied.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Clearer widget preview on the offer page

The preview on the offer creation page now reflects the design settings configured on the Design page, so what you see while building an offer matches your real widget. We also updated the preview label to make it clear this is only a preview โ€” the live version is shown on the product page.

Other improvements:

  • Cleaned up the UI of the Create Offer page

  • Simplified the current discount message

  • Removed the Progress bar setting from Choice List design settings and the Achievement message from List design settings
